Cwrdd â Petra – Ymgeisydd Seneddol dros Aberconwy
Rwyf wedi byw a bod yn gysylltiedig â fy nghymuned leol yn Neganwy, Conwy, ers dros 15 mlynedd, gan weithio ym Mae Colwyn am ddegawd olaf gyrfa nyrsio 35 mlynedd. Ar ôl i mi ymddeol yn 2017, ymunais â fy ngŵr yn rhedeg ein hysgol hwylio ein hunain yn seiliedig ar Afon Conwy. Teimlaf ei bod yn hollbwysig i ddemocratiaeth fod ymgeisydd y Blaid Werdd ar y papur pleidleisio, er mwyn i bawb allu mynegi eu cefnogaeth i warchod ein hamgylchedd a’n cymdeithas. Drwy bleidleisio Gwyrdd mae gennych gyfle i herio’r prif bleidiau, herio strwythur economaidd ffug a methiadol ein system brynwriaethol bresennol a herio y toriadau cyson i gyllid lleol.
Mae’r Blaid Werdd yn gosod pobl, nid elw, wrth galon ein strategaeth economaidd, yn sefyll dros ddyfodol ein pobl ifanc ac yn creu cymunedau lleol gofalgar. Teimlaf y dylai gwleidyddiaeth fod yn gyfranogol, yn berthnasol, ac yn berthnasol i bob un ohonom ac am y rheswm hwn, rwyf bob amser wedi bod yn gefnogwr o’r Blaid Werdd, gan sefyll mewn etholiadau lleol mor bell yn ôl â’r 1990au a thros y Senedd a’r Senedd yn 2015 a 2016.
Mae’r Blaid Werdd yn cydnabod nad yw’r amgylchedd ar wahân i economeg a chymdeithas ond ei fod yn rhyng-gysylltiedig ac yn hanfodol i iechyd, lles a safon byw pawb. Mae polisïau’r Blaid Werdd yn darparu, nid yn unig, weledigaeth amgen ond strategaeth fanwl a chynllun ariannol ar sut i wella cyfleusterau a gwasanaethau lleol a rhoi’r galon yn ôl i wleidyddiaeth.
Meet Petra – Parliamentary Candidate for Aberconwy
I have lived and been involved in my local community in Deganwy, Conwy, for over 15 years, working in Colwyn Bay for the final decade of a 35-year nursing career. After I retired in 2017, I joined my husband running our own sailing school based on the River Conwy. I feel it is crucial for democracy that there is a Green Party candidate on the ballot paper, so that everyone can express their support for protecting our environment and society. By voting Green you have an opportunity to challenge the main parties, challenge the false and failing economic structure of our current consumerist system and challenge the constant cuts to local funding.
The Green Party places people, not profit, at the heart of our economic strategy, stands up for the future of our young people and creates caring local communities. I feel that politics should be participatory, relevant, and relatable to all of us and for this reason, I have always been a supporter of the Green Party, standing for local elections as far back as 1990’s and for Parliament and the Senedd in 2015 and 2016.
The Green Party recognises that the environment is not separate from economics and society but is interlinked and vital to everyone’ s health, wellbeing and standard of living. Green Party policies provide, not only, an alternative vision but a detailed strategy and financial plan on how to improve local facilities and services and put the heart back into politics.
