Karl Drinkwater – Dwyfor Meirionnydd

Cwrdd â Karl – Ymgeisydd Seneddol dros Dwyfor Meirionnydd

Fel awdur, mae Karl yn breuddwydio am fydoedd gwell. Yn ei waith cymunedol – ymgyrchydd amgylcheddol, codwr sbwriel, athro ysgrifennu creadigol ysbrydoledig, a chynghorydd cymuned – mae’n rhoi ei werthoedd ar waith.

Ysgrifennodd ei nofel gyntaf ar Ynys Enlli, ac yn ystod ei yrfa ugain mlynedd fel llyfrgellydd ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth byddai’n mwynhau dyddiau haf yn beicio Llwybr Mawddach neu grwydro’r Bermo a Harlech.

Mae gan Karl galon Celt ac mae’n breuddwydio am Gymru gwbl annibynnol, yr Alban ac Iwerddon unedig, a chynghrair dilynol o wledydd Celtaidd. Yn olaf, yn rhydd o gynhesu, gwladychu a dwyn adnoddau Lloegr, gallai’r gennin pedr, ysgallen a’r shamrock ffynnu eto.

Mae angen newid ar frys. Cael gwared ar wleidyddion sy’n dinistrio gwasanaethau cyhoeddus, cynyddu anghydraddoldeb, hyrwyddo trais mewn polisi tramor, mygu gwrthwynebiad, galluogi hil-laddiad, cefnogi apartheid, cynyddu dyled, dinistrio’r amgylchedd, a dweud celwydd i ni. Gwleidyddion gyrfa yn ceisio mwy o rym a manteision i’w hunain a’r rhai sy’n eu prynu.

Mae angen i ni amddiffyn yr hyn sy’n dda ac ailddarganfod yr hyn a gollwyd. Nid ydym ar wahân i natur, rydym yn rhan ohono. Rhaid inni ddychmygu byd sy’n ein hailgysylltu â’r tir, sy’n deg ac yn gyfartal, lle gallwn brofi bywydau bodlon a chynaliadwy mewn cymunedau cyfeillgar.

Meet Karl – Parliamentary Candidate for Dwyfor Meirionnydd

As an author, Karl dreams of better worlds. In his community work – environmental campaigner, litter picker, inspiring creative writing teacher, and community councillor – he puts his values into practice.

He wrote his first novel on Ynys Enlli, and during his twenty-year librarian career at Aberystwyth University, he would enjoy summer days cycling the Mawddach Trail or exploring Barmouth and Harlech.

Karl has the heart of a Celt and dreams of a fully independent Wales, Scotland and united Ireland, and a subsequent alliance of Celtic countries. Finally free of England’s warmongering, colonialisation and resource theft, the daffodil, thistle and shamrock could thrive again.

There’s an urgent need for change. To get rid of politicians who destroy public services, increase inequality, promote violence in foreign policy, stifle opposition, enable genocide, support apartheid, increase debt, destroy the environment, and lie to us. Career politicians just seeking more power and perks for themselves and those who buy them.

We need to protect what’s good and rediscover what has been lost. We are not separate from nature, we are a part of it. We must imagine a world that reconnects us to the land, that is fair and equal, where we can experience fulfilling and sustainable lives in friendly communities.
