#TrashTag – Cleaning the Dingle In Colwyn Bay

This Saturday we along with volunteers cleaned 150kg of waste from the Dingle in Colwyn Bay. This beautiful little stream which runs through the centre of Colwyn Bay was full of plastic as well as a shopping trolley and sadly syringes.

By cleaning the Dingle we have saved waste from entering the Bay and then into the Sea.

Among the volunteers was Brian Laing who is our candidate in the upcoming Rhiw Town Council by Election, he wants to improve the area by the Dingle by placing more litter bins along the route.

Global Climate Strike – Colwyn Bay & Bangor

Yesterday on the 20th of September we joined the school children of Colwyn Bay and Bangor at the Global Climate Strike. In Colwyn Bay Adam our Campaigns Officer gave a rabel rousing speech about the change needed to protect our planet and humanity.

It was such an inspiration watching the Children defend their future, and heart-warming to know that all around the world Children just like them were united all around the world.

In Bangor, the strikers were joined by Iolo Jones Green Party Town Councillor in Llanfairfechan, where the passionate children did all the talking and they were fantastic.

Stand Up For Democracy Colwyn Bay

On the 31st of August Denbighshire For Europe organised a Stand Up For Democracy Protest in Colwyn Bay where Chris Hemming of our committee members discussed how what Boris Johnson attempting to prolouge parliament was a disgrace to democracy.

Refilling Llanfairfechan One Bottle At A Time

Llanfairfechan now has 6 water re-fill stations thanks to Iolo Jones their Town Councillor.

Iolo has been asking business in the area to allow people to refill their water bottles for free to help reduce plastic waste in the community. Each business has a sign on display in the window to let you know they are a refill station.
